March Theme: The Art of Seeing
Learning to Observe, Draw + Think Like an Artist
This month focuses on observation skills — helping students shift from symbolic drawing (what we think things look like) to perceptual drawing (what we actually see).
This is the foundation of all artistic growth.
Students will:
• Practice observational drawing
• Strengthen hand-eye coordination
• Learn proportion and shape relationships
• Develop confidence in realistic rendering
• Build patience and focus

Meet Morrigan Hayes
Resident Artist & Gallery Manager at The Logan Gallery
Morrigan Hayes is a talented multi-disciplinary artist with a love for charcoal and oil painting. She’s known for her colorful portraits that capture a full spectrum of human emotion in The Logan Gallery. With 15 years of experience in art and working with children, she brings patience, positivity, and clear instruction into every class.
Students receive real artistic mentorship — not babysitting.

No. All levels are welcome. Instruction is tailored to each student’s ability.

We will provide core materials unless otherwise noted. Students are welcome to bring sketchbooks or preferred tools. We will provide a snack for each class. If you’d like to provide your own snacks, you are welcome to!

We offer a designated makeup day each month for both age groups, typically on the last Friday of the month at 4pm.

Yes. Classes are separated to ensure age-appropriate instruction and pacing.
If your children are close in age and prefer not to be split up, please let us know.

There is no drop-in class price. Growing Artists is designed as a progressive monthly program. Consistency leads to stronger results.
Due to limited class availability, we can only offer tuition on a monthly basis.

Yes. We will schedule an art exhibition every semester for students who are actively enrolled.
At the end of each month, students are expected to take their creations home, but can bring their favorite piece(s) back for the next exhibition.
