Class Philosophy
“A space utilized for creation, learning and play”
In these classes, students will explore the fundamentals of art—including line, shape, form, color, value, space, and texture—through a variety of hands-on projects, materials, and creative activities. Each class will offer a balance of guided instruction and open-ended exploration, giving students opportunities to learn new skills while discovering how they naturally like to create.
We’ll work with both two-dimensional and three-dimensional projects, experiment with different mediums and techniques, and make room for creative play and free-form exploration. The goal is not simply to teach students how to make art, but to help them become comfortable experimenting, making choices, solving creative problems, and developing their own ideas.
Most importantly, this is a space where creativity is encouraged and curiosity is welcome. Students will have room to try something new, make mistakes, change direction, and see where their ideas take them—all while building a strong foundation of artistic skills they can continue to grow from.
